Step into the vibrant world of the Harlem Renaissance. Join TeachRock and the NYC Department of Education's Office of Social Studies and Civics for a full day of professional learning at the New-York Historical Society, where history comes alive beyond the classroom walls. Explore TeachRock's Harlem Renaissance resources, investigate Passport to Social Studies and Hidden Voices curricular materials on the Harlem Renaissance and the Great Migration, and engage with an immersive exhibition celebrating the richness of Black LGBTQ+ life in the 1920s and 1930s. This session is part of the Rock and Roll Classroom Professional Learning Series 2025–2026.

This workshop is designed for NYCDOE educators in Grades K–12, including teachers, instructional leads, and administrators.
